Jimmy Newt Surls, 64 of 205 Maria Drive Anderson passed away Monday, October 1, 2007 at the Anderson Area Medical Center.
Born on January 1, 1943 in Gatison (Gadsen?), Alabama, he was the son of the late James Newt and Emmy Grace Surls.And was the husband to Lisa Dorsey Surls. He was retired from Michelin and a member of the Boscobel Golf Club.
He is survived by four sons, Kevin and Kyle Surls of Liberty; Jamie and Larry Kinley of Anderson; one daughter: Marlie Hughes of Anderson, grandson: Dalton Newt Surls and "Papa's Little Girl" Desahraye Hughes.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by three brothers, Leland, Joseph and Randy Surls and also awaiting his arrival in Heaven are parents in-law: Larry and Nadine Dorsey.
Funeral services will be held at 2pm Thursday October 4, 2007 at the Woodlawn-Sosebee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mike Ford officiating. Internment will follow at the Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Mr. Surls was placed in the home at 3pm Tuesday October 2, 2007. The Woodlawn-Sosebee Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be assisting the family with the arrangements 3219 South Main St. Anderson SC.

The wake was held at Jimmy's residence at 104 Maria Drive, Anderson, South Carolina.
Jimmy married Sylvia Veronica Phillips. (Sylvia Veronica Phillips was born on Nov 29, 1946.)
Jimmy next married Lisa Dorsey, daughter of Larry Dorsey and Nadine.
